Costco Keto Shopping List (Updated)

If you’re on the keto diet and headed to Costco, you’ve come to the right place. We’ll be updating this Keto Costco shopping list about every month or so as Costco gets in new keto-friendly foods.

We’re not going to focus on price because the price varies due to location and market conditions. However, we’ll try to help you build your Costco keto shopping list with items that present good value. Shopping for keto products in bulk is a great way to do keto on a limited budget.

Lastly, we will strive to try to focus on the items that Costco seems to have on a consistent basis at multiple locations. We will also take keto food items off this list and add others as Costco’s inventory changes over time.

So come back often to see what keto food items changed

By the way, Costco has been beating Amazon and Walmart on Wall Street.

You can save money by buying your keto food in bulk at Costco

Keto is getting more and more popular and Costco is getting ahead of the game by offering additional keto-friendly products to meet demand. Here are a few pictures of some items that we recently purchased while shopping for keto at Costco:

Costco-keto-bread
Keto-friendly bread found at Costco

Keto friendly bread

Keto bread has been like searching for Bigfoot for me. I have heard about it and seen pictures of it, but never been able to find it. I finally found it at Costo and immediately snapped up a couple loaves. I always read the ingredients when I see something labeled as “keto-friendly” because a lot of times it’s not really a keto approved food. With zero added sugar and zero net carbs, it looks keto approved to me.

To get net-carbs, subtract the fiber from the total carbohydrates.

I will provide you a list of ingredients, but I did see modified wheat starch and wheat gluten. I am not sure how they modified it, but if you are avoiding gluten, this bread is not for you. It looks like it’s high in fiber (12 grams) so the 12 grams of carbohydrates are in a non-digestible form.

I made some toast with it and tried it with some keto friendly peanut butter. It was actually really good that way. I also made french toast with it. The keto friendly french toast was a little dry however. On a positive note, with 12 grams of fiber and the inclusion of the prebiotic fiber inulin, it might help prevent keto constipation.

Keto friendly bread ingredients:

  • Modified wheat starch
  • Wheat gluten
  • Oat fiber
  • Wheat protein isolate
  • Inulin
  • Soybean oil
  • Yeast
  • Salt
  • Vinegar
  • Calcium propionate (preservative)
  • Ascorbic acid
  • Enzymes

Kirkland Peanut butter is pretty good

Kirkland Peanut Butter

There is a debate in the keto community whether peanut butter is allowed on the keto diet. I’ll let you be the judge of that. I will tell you however, that Kirkland brand peanut butter doesn’t have any added sugar and it’s pretty tasty.

low-carb-flaxseeds
Macadamia nut milk and ground flax-seeds found at Costco

Organic ground flaxseeds and Macadamia nut milk

This massive bag of flaxseeds was an awesome low carb find at Costco. One of the healthiest keto superfoods that you can consume. Two tablespoons contain 3 grams of carbohydrates, but since it’s all-fiber it’s actually zero net carbs.

One of the best preventions for constipation on the keto diet is mixing up 2 tablespoons of milled flaxseeds in with 8 ounces of macadamia nut milk. The nutritional content of that combination is 10 grams of healthy fats, 3 grams of protein and zero net carbs. This is a very keto-friendly, economical Costco purchase.

Keto Snack Mix from Natures Garden

These keto snacks I recently found at Costco are pretty delicious. Macadamia nuts, pecans, pepitas (pumpkin seeds without the hull), almonds and cheese balls.

The addition of probiotics makes these interesting. Maintaining a healthy gut microbiome can give your immune system a boost to help fight infections.

costco keto ice cream bars
Keto ice cream bars

Keto Ice Cream Bars

These keto ice cream bars are new at Costco. The Ketopint Website has them at $8.49 a box and they’re only 4 of them per box. 2 grams of net carbs make them pretty keto friendly however. They contain chicory root which is a prebiotic fiber that helps the digestive system. Here are the ingredients:

  • Cream
  • Whole Milk
  • Salted Caramel Base
  • Sea Salt
  • Natural Caramel Flavor
  • Annatto Extract
  • Organic Xanthan Gum
  • Egg Yolk
  • Erythritol
  • Non-GMO Chicory Root Fiber
  • Milk Protein Concentrate
  • Monk Fruit Extract
  • Stevia Extract
  • Non-GMO Tapioca Fiber
  • Vegetable Glycerin
  • Non-GMO Guar Gum
  • Non-GMO Gum Acacia
Kirkland-macadamia-nuts
Healthy Macadamia nuts at Costco

Low carb Macadamia Nuts

You can find the best keto-friendly nuts at Costco and if you buy them in bulk, you can save some money. Macadamia nuts, in particular, were recently added to this best keto superfood on earth list. I am going to look for walnuts and pecans on my next Costco keto shopping haul, so stay tuned.

Hungry for spaghetti or pasta?

Only 1 net carb per 4 ounces serving, these noodles are a good keto-friendly noodle alternative. The only challenge will be finding a low carb-sugar free sauce to go with it.

Replace your tortillas, wraps, buns, bread and taco shells

These low carb wraps were a good find at Costco. They are a little thin and taste a little “eggy” but they make a nice burrito or tortilla wrap. With zero carbohydrates you really can’t beat them.

These crunchy salty mushrooms are utterly delicious!

If you love mushrooms, are on the ketogenic diet and shop at Costco you absolutely have to look for these. Salty and crunchy with a hearty mushroom taste. I recommend taking a handful out of the bag and putting the bag out of reach or there could be a danger of you eating the entire bag in one sitting.

Prime-New-York-Strip-Steak
New York Strip Steak

If Costco quit selling Prime Beef I would reconsider my Costco membership, it’s one of the perks that I really appreciate. It is also one of the ways Costco separates itself from Sams Club. You can’t get prime beef at Sams Club. Prime Beef is amazing and paying a little extra is worth it. You can read about how the USDA grades beef here.

The image above is a Prime New York Strip Steak. It was good, but honestly, I would recommend going with the Ribeye Steak. Ribeye is a little more expensive, but it’s substantially better. Ribeye is a little fattier, but when shopping at Costco while on keto your not concerned about the extra fat anyway.

Being able to eat steak on the keto diet is one of the reasons keto is the best diet for long term success in my opinion.

erythritol sweetener keto costco
Heavy whipping cream and Monkfruit sweetener

Heavy whipping cream and Lakanto artificial sweetener

The cream is a low carb keto staple and tastes great in some keto coffee. Use it in multiple recipes. It works great to cook with butter, bacon, and vegetables. The Lakanto Monkfruit sweetener also has erythritol (sugar alcohol) in it.

bacon and cream cheese
Bacon and cream cheese

Bacon is another keto staple and getting it at Costco in bulk will help you save money. Ditto with the cream cheese, especially if you like an occasional keto fat bomb. You can find almost everything you need at Costco to make delicious Keto Chaffles. Here is an excellent Keto Chaffle Recipe.

keto-costco-coffee
Coffee and cacao powder

Buy coffee in bulk at Costco to make keto coffee or as some like to call it bulletproof coffee. The Folgers (coffee) and the sugar-free cacao are a great value.

costco-keto-eggs
Free range eggs

If you can buy free-range eggs at Costco in bulk there is no reason why you can’t try a keto egg fast.

Intermittent fasting and OMAD can help Speed Keto, and the choline in the eggs helps heal a fatty liver.

chia-seeds-costco
Chia seeds and coconut oil.

Chia seeds help prevent and remedy keto constipation

Coconut oil is yet another ingredient I utilize daily in my bulletproof coffee recipe. Coconut oil helps you get fat-adapted and has some MCT oil in it which can get converted into ketones.

keto-costco-kerrygold
Kerrygold butter

Butter is another keto staple found at Costco

I cook with it, use it for fat bombs and put it in my coffee. Kerrygold Irish butter is one of the best butter to use on a keto diet because the cows are grass-fed. Butter is a healthy fat and eating healthy fats on keto is important to reduce inflammation.

costco-collagen-cauliflower
Cauliflower rice and collagen peptides.

Cauliflower rice is so convenient to add to any keto meal

You can use it to make your own cauliflower crust pizza. DO NOT buy the pre-made (frozen) Costco cauliflower crust pizzas. They are gluten-free, but not keto-friendly.

The only place that I know of that has a pre-made keto-friendly pizza crust is at Blaze Pizza.

You can take the Orgain Collagen Peptides off your Costco keto shopping list. It looks like that brand is being discontinued. That’s a shame too because it was a great value. As soon as Costco has a low-cost collagen alternative I will add it to this list. So check back next often.

costco-keto-acv-avocado
Apple cider vinegar and avocados

Apple cider vinegar is one of the ingredients in my keto flu tonic and avocados are well, avocados. They are one of the healthiest keto foods available. When explaining the keto diet I always stress the importance of avoiding the keto flu.

Costco-keto-broccoli
Frozen broccoli florets

Frozen broccoli florets are super convenient on keto. Just pull some out of the freezer and microwave them to thaw them out. Cook them up in a pan with butter, heavy whipping cream, garlic, bacon and serve it as a side dish.

Frozen vegetables in general are a great low cost keto food you can purchase at Costco. Pull them out of the freezer, thaw them out in the microwave and fry them up with bacon and heavy whipping cream.

keto-friendly-gouda-cheese-costco
Free-range, grass-fed, Gouda cheese

Free-range, grass-fed Gouda Cheese from Holland

Costco has a boat-load of keto friendly cheeses. I love the mini babybel cheese, mozzarella and the Brie cheese, but my favorite is probably the Aged Gouda. You can read here about why Gouda Cheese is one of the healthiest keto superfoods you could eat.

If you like food pyramids, here is the new keto food pyramid for your enjoyment.

Check back often and I will try to keep this Costco keto shopping list updated.

Robert Bryant
Robert Bryant

I love Costco, but it’s is a big store and the products seem scattered all over the place. I go there quite often because they have a high product turnover. I’m always looking for keto friendly goodies and will post them on this article when I find them. If you find something let me know and I will add it. Thanks for reading 🙂
